The Bible claims for itself to be both God’s very words and The Word of God, as in the singular revelation. Here are some example passages from just our Three Books:
- John 3:34 King James Version (KJV) For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
- John 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
- Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
- Acts 6:2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
- Acts 6:7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were
- Acts 8:14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
- Acts 11:1 And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
- Acts 12:24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.
- Acts 13:5 And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.
- Acts 13:7 Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
- Acts 13:44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
- Acts 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
- Acts 17:13 But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.
- Acts 18:11 And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
- Acts 19:20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.
- Romans 9:6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
- Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Most importantly, Jesus Christ Himself is claimed to be “The Word” of God come into our world of Space – Time (“made flesh,” i.e. fully human):
John 1 (KJV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. …10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
